Welcome to Greenstone Getaway- a brand new masterpiece of contemporary architecture with magnificent panoramic western mountain views located in Bluemont, Virginia. Peaceful, private, stunning and ideally located on the Western slope of  Blueridge mountain road, this residence commands the same acclaimed views as Bear's Den overlook on the Appalachian trail - with daily breathtakingly beautiful sunsets. Just minutes from Route 7,  the award winning Bear Chase Brewery, and less than an hour's drive to Washington DC, one feels worlds away at this pristine, truly a work of an art retreat. A nature lover's paradise, and nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, enjoy unobstructed views of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, all the way to the Alleghany mountains. Relish each season's changing foliage, and observe wildlife in their undisturbed habitat.

This spectacular four-bedroom residence was built around a greenstone boulder - visible in the lower level - creating harmony between the natural land and the building. Uniquely designed as a combination of Scandinavian and Japanese design,  it is a stellar example of Japandi architecture - the entire residence is a work of art and honors the perfect beauty of mother nature. This design fusion between building and setting creates the perfect blend of function and form, focusing on clean lines, bright spaces, and simplicity.

The main level has native white oak hardwood floors milled at Cochran's Lumber in Berryville, Virginia and were finished and sanded in place. The ceiling and beams are constructed of Pine from Tennessee, and a 2 story wall of Portuguese Cork offers design and function.  A stunning double-sided Majestic brand wood-burning fireplace with a poured-in-place concrete hearth and surround and pocket doors enclose a living room with 3 walls of windows on the North end of the home.  A stylish kitchen, dining, and living space  comprises the largest area of the main level - with high-end appliances, white quartz countertops, a large waterfall island, custom milled Kabinart Cabinetry from Nashville Tennessee and floor to ceiling windows.  The primary bedroom is located on the main level - with private balcony and en suite bathroom with radiant  heated floors , a custom reclaimed wood vanity designed by Dave Jones Designs of Brooklyn, New York and large shower room  of porcelain tile with soaking tub.

A gorgeous floating staircase with 1/2" tempered glass and Cork wall lead to the lower level. The home is passive solar in design, built into the side of the mountain to retain coolness in the summer and warmth in the winter.  The centerpiece of the lower level  and true heart of the home is the natural greenstone boulder which has existed in the same location for millions of years, the house was designed  and built around this boulder. The "boulder" room enjoys built in seating, shelves, windows, and glass door to the patio and spa. A large second and third  bedroom with windows, doors to the patio and attractive wabi sabi  concrete floors are also located on the lower level. Bedroom three has ensuite bath with heated towel rack and kitchenette - making it the perfect guest suite.  A dedicated laundry room, and flexible bonus 4th bedroom/office/studio/gym space are also located on the lower level.  A handsome flagstone patio with steppable plantings that will flourish in the coming years runs the length of the home.  Enjoy sunsets from the 8 person Jacuzzi spa, outdoor fires, and views for miles and miles. The rear yard provides an excellent location for future pool &  endless possibilities.

Bluemont, Virginia straddles Loudoun and Clarke Counties. Bluemont is  one of Virginia's most beloved and picturesque villages - located at the foot of the Blue Ridge mountains. Tucked into the side of a mountain, Bluemont has a unique protected feeling and was once a popular resort destination in the early 1900's and was the final destination of the Washington & Old Dominion railway.  Bluemont still has an active General Store, a Community center, and its own post office.  Enjoy the iconic Bluemont Fair in the summer and enjoy some of the areas most established and award winning wineries, breweries, farms, the Appalachian Trail, Raven Rocks and Bears Den all year long.
